For collectors of finished dolls: Use “Silicone Velvet” to give the doll’s skin a silky feel and to protect the surface paint for longer. To achieve soft, velvety skin that not only looks and feels ultra-realistic but also allows clothing to glide smoothly and prevents friction that could damage your doll, regular use of Silicone Velvet will safely and naturally protect your prized doll. Apply it to a clean, dry doll using a powder puff (latex-free) or a small powder brush, gently spreading the powder over the doll’s skin. Use a large powder brush to remove any excess. ARTISTS: For the best long-lasting results: Make sure the doll is clean and free of grease. Clean it with a silicone-safe solvent (NOVOCS is recommended), then apply a very thin (clear) coat of your preferred silicone paint system. Apply the powder with a spray bottle, sifter, or powder brush before the silicone begins to harden (cure). Once the silicone has fully cured, remove the excess with a powder brush, rinse with water, and check for any areas where you didn’t apply the clear coat; these will appear as shiny spots. Touch up any areas that were left unpainted. When finished, dust the entire figure with more powder to achieve a fabulous feel.User Tip: Leave a small amount of the silicone paint mixture on your palette so you can touch it and observe how the curing process progresses (instead of touching the artwork). Quick Tip: Make sure the surface is clean and free of any oil residue. Clean it with a solvent suitable for silicone (NOVOCS is recommended). Let the solvent evaporate. Apply the powder in firm circular motions so that it penetrates the silicone, using a small, medium-stiffness brush. No need to wait: remove the excess with a powder brush; no rinsing is necessary.
